Solo Work

Birdie Bootcamp

I made Birdie Bootcamp for the 14th Pirate Software Game Jam, themed around the concept of spreading your wings. My main goal was to produce a game that recreated my time spent trying to learn how to control a katamari, focusing on having non-traditional controls that a player will eventually come to terms with. I built the game using Godot 4 and modeled/animated through Blender. Check out the prototype or read over my GDD at the link here! Or if you want to check out this shot of me playing around with my first control test!

Enbassador

Enbassador is a board game created for a class on gamification, where we were asked to create a game system that would help solve a problem that we identified. The game is intended for primary to middle school students, in order to reinforce their vocabulary and encourage them to expand their preexisting dictionary. Initially, the game was significantly more complicated and required referencing outside documents that one would have to look up, which was deemed too complicated for a young audience. In order to fit this game for that age group, I had to perform research to refine my design and make it more suitable for the audience. You can check out the game rule document by clicking on the link here and going to the itch.io page. Or you can check out my presentation for this project by clicking here.

No Barrel No Water

No Barrel No Water is a game that I constructed in 24 hours in Unreal Engine 4 for a game jam themed around the word "hunt." The game is a short comedic experience about a joke made during the jam introduction process. During the project, scope became the primary concern as the time limit started counting down, and the process became a practice in maintaining scope when under a time limit and time management. The game was created using a controller from the Unreal Engine templates, however, the rest was created by me in Blueprints. The project gave me experience in facets of game development that I was less familiar with, primarily art, and knowledge on what they require to function properly and well. You can download the game, playable on Windows operating systems on itch.io.

D20 Creations

During my time serving as a Dungeon Master for a group of friends playing TTRPGs, I ended up creating an adventure that struck really well with the group and I found particularly enjoyable. After the adventure ended, I went back and attempted to translate the more free-flowing, self-guided experience into something for a more traditional group. The resulting short adventure is intended to keep a focus on the party's freedom to do as they choose. The game is run using the Basic Fantasy RPG system (found at basicfantasy.org) and the adventure document can be found here. All maps were created using a free-to-use program from Deepnight Games, RPG Map.

I have also created events for a group of roleplayers on the World of Warcraft Moon Guard server, known as the "Stormwind Law Department," of which I am an officer. As the group's primary event leader, I created a system to allow for the creation of standardized events during my quick turnaround time while still affording time to create more unique objectives or experiences. You can check out my personal documentation for our most popular event here, alongside a snippet of our rule system so that you can follow along.
